EatSmart fans will continue to select a Charity of the Month in 2018. Fans will submit short stories about the charity’s mission and why it’s meaningful to them. We began our Charity of the Month donations in 2011. In honor of Heart Health Awareness Month, we’ve selected Protecting One Young Heart at a Time as our charity for February 2018.  The Mission of Protecting One Young Heart at a Time: To spare parents the grief of the loss of a child due to Sudden Cardiac Death. Long term, The Foundation envisions that their free screenings will become part of the mandatory physical in all schools. Their core objective is to promote the use of electrocardiograms and screening echocardiograms.  Results will enable physicians to detect rhythm disturbances of the heart, as well as abnormalities of size, thickness, and function of the left ventricle, aortic valve, and aorta.
